तब देखी मुद्रिका मनोहर। राम नाम अंकित अति सुंदर॥ चकित चितव मुदरी पहिचानी। हरष बिषाद हृदयँ अकुलानी॥1॥
तब उन्होंने राम-नाम से अंकित अत्यंत सुंदर एवं मनोहर अँगूठी देखी। अँगूठी को पहचानकर सीताजी आश्चर्यचकित होकर उसे देखने लगीं और हर्ष तथा विषाद से हृदय में अकुला उठीं॥1॥
Then he saw a very beautiful and beautiful ring engraved with the name of Ram. Recognizing the ring, Sitaji started looking at it with surprise and was filled with joy and sadness in her heart.1॥
जीति को सकइ अजय रघुराई। माया तें असि रचि नहिं जाई॥ सीता मन बिचार कर नाना। मधुर बचन बोलेउ हनुमाना॥2॥
(वे सोचने लगीं-) श्री रघुनाथजी तो सर्वथा अजेय हैं, उन्हें कौन जीत सकता है? और माया से ऐसी (माया के उपादान से सर्वथा रहित दिव्य, चिन्मय) अँगूठी बनाई नहीं जा सकती। सीताजी मन में अनेक प्रकार के विचार कर रही थीं। इसी समय हनुमान्जी मधुर वचन बोले-॥2॥
(She started thinking-) Shri Raghunathji is completely invincible, who can conquer him? And such a (divine, shining) ring cannot be made with the help of Maya. Sitaji was having many types of thoughts in her mind. At this time Hanumanji spoke sweet words -॥2॥
रामचंद्र गुन बरनैं लागा। सुनतहिं सीता कर दुख भागा॥ लागीं सुनैं श्रवन मन लाई। आदिहु तें सब कथा सुनाई॥3॥
वे श्री रामचंद्रजी के गुणों का वर्णन करने लगे, (जिनके) सुनते ही सीताजी का दुःख भाग गया। वे कान और मन लगाकर उन्हें सुनने लगीं। हनुमान्जी ने आदि से लेकर अब तक की सारी कथा कह सुनाई॥3॥
He started describing the qualities of Shri Ramchandraji, (on hearing whom) Sitaji’s sorrow went away. She started listening to him with all her ears and heart. Hanumanji narrated the entire story from the beginning till now.3॥
श्रवनामृत जेहिं कथा सुहाई। कही सो प्रगट होति किन भाई॥ तब हनुमंत निकट चलि गयऊ। फिरि बैठीं मन बिसमय भयऊ ॥4॥
(सीताजी बोलीं-) जिसने कानों के लिए अमृत रूप यह सुंदर कथा कही, वह हे भाई! प्रकट क्यों नहीं होता? तब हनुमान्जी पास चले गए। उन्हें देखकर सीताजी फिरकर (मुख फेरकर) बैठ गईं? उनके मन में आश्चर्य हुआ॥4॥
(Sitaji said-) O brother, he is the one who told this beautiful story in the form of nectar for the ears! Why doesn’t it appear? Then Hanumanji went near. Seeing him, Sitaji turned (turned her face away) and sat down. There was surprise in his mind॥4॥
राम दूत मैं मातु जानकी। सत्य सपथ करुनानिधान की॥ यह मुद्रिका मातु मैं आनी। दीन्हि राम तुम्ह कहँ सहिदानी॥5॥
(हनुमान्जी ने कहा-) हे माता जानकी मैं श्री रामजी का दूत हूँ। करुणानिधान की सच्ची शपथ करता हूँ, हे माता! यह अँगूठी मैं ही लाया हूँ। श्री रामजी ने मुझे आपके लिए यह सहिदानी (निशानी या पहिचान) दी है॥5॥
(Hanumanji said-) O Mother Janaki, I am the messenger of Shri Ramji. I take a true oath of mercy, O Mother! I have brought this ring. Shri Ramji has given me this Sahidani (sign or recognition) for you.॥5॥
नर बानरहि संग कहु कैसें। कही कथा भइ संगति जैसें॥6॥
(सीताजी ने पूछा-) नर और वानर का संग कहो कैसे हुआ? तब हनुमानजी ने जैसे संग हुआ था, वह सब कथा कही॥6॥
(Sitaji asked-) Tell me, how did the company of man and monkey happen? Then Hanumanji told all the stories that had happened with him.॥6॥
दोहा
कपि के बचन सप्रेम सुनि उपजा मन बिस्वास जाना मन क्रम बचन यह कृपासिंधु कर दास॥13॥
हनुमान्जी के प्रेमयक्त वचन सुनकर सीताजी के मन में विश्वास उत्पन्न हो गया, उन्होंने जान लिया कि यह मन, वचन और कर्म से कृपासागर श्री रघुनाथजी का दास है॥13॥
Hearing Hanumanji’s words of love, faith arose in Sitaji’s mind, she came to know that she is a slave of Shri Raghunathji, the ocean of grace through mind, words and deeds.॥13॥
